Wednesday Addams, ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a “normal” boy from Ohio. A boy her parents have never met. And if that’s not upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother about her new romance. Now Gomez Addams must do the unthinkable; he must keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. This meeting of worlds will be anything but normal.

The Addams Family is a perfect personification of “larger than life” - at first glance, from their beginnings in the beloved comic strips, they are monsters and ghouls that live among us, from Lurch, the zombie-like butler, to the mysterious,witch-like Morticia. But what endears us to the Addamses is the fact that despite their craziness, they are a loving family, enduring the ups and downs that many families must conquer. When set against this fantastical backdrop, we can see even clearer how very “normal” the Addamses are; they too must deal with the trust of a spouse, the pain and joy of watching a child grow up, the uncomfortable feeling of being a fish out of the water, and the desire to be close to your loved ones, despite how crazy they might make you feel. No matter how crazy we may find our own families, we, like the Addamses, can find ways to emerge from our low points with stronger love and understanding for each other.
